Hmm, could be your model of computer, if its an old model it might run slow and say "not responding" if you try and do too many things at once, or you have a virus, consider going a full computer virus scan.... or it might just be the speed of your internet connection.
Your computer might be running slow because of excess information that is useless and does nothing on your computer. Consider a computer cleanup, it gets rid of all this in depth stuff on your computer that you never know is there, and is practically useless to you, and does nothing but lag your computer.. But that is all I can think of. Good luck |

to aid in doing what NoE said and try the program SmartClose, it kills everything that doesnt need to be running for you so the programs you do want to use run faster.

Are you using wireless internet? If not, and you have a modem, it will most likely be the modem.

anyway: i have to agree with NoE.. to many programs might be running in the background., it can be viruses but it can be normal programs you installed as well.., try going to task manager and look for files that look suspicious, recipester.org/images/8/8a/Xp-task-manager_001.PNG those are the only things you should see in task manager.. if there are more.. i suggest you end the processes that arent supposed to be on... BTW MSNMSNGR.exe is MSN so if you close that you are automaticly logged out of that and you need to restart the application... for the rest you can shut everything down... apart from the files you can see in the pic above ^^ ... Have fun
