The goverment have stopped S.A.T.s this year and the next i cant understand why and its bullcrap because i did mine and got a good grade i know sats are kinda usless but i think everyone should suffer with them!

I think they should have stopped the Year Six S.A.Ts instead.
They are only for the benifit of the school, and we were put through hell, just because our good grades gave the school more money.
The Year Nine ones show some importance.

i find it kinda anoying that they have canceled them because i did them last year and got a 7 for english ,7 for science and a 8 for maths so now it basicaly counts for nothing because they have been stoped

They were just for government statistics in the first place. Most schools will still be using old SATS papers just to determine what sets the all the children will be going in to. Just because they are officially stopped, doesn't mean they are stopped altogether. You will still get tests no matter how much you whine and moan.

The SATS are just another name for a test. That's all.

i got perfect marks and now its ended, i agree with all else, this sucks
its tru tho it was all just for the school, but the yr 6 SATS were important, the pupils were sometimes partly marked on their yr 6 SATS to get into secondary school, so all 10- yr olds are screwed....
i personally dont see the point, all the little kids will b happy but they dont rly understand the implications, (probably and may no people who are still in juniors take offense to this).

Standardized tests are used to compare you to everyone else. Is this fair, or good? For most people, yes. They're supposed to be hard, because there are people smarter than you. Most of you aren't going to be rocket scientists or lawyers or astronauts, statistically speaking, and so a nice good hard kick in the pants is a nice way of reminding you that modern society doesn't care.

They will just be replaced with almost the exact same thing with a different name.


Like in Scotland. There is meant to be some form of test being removed but is only being replaced with a more flawed system.

i think stopping sats is a good thing. there stupid because they dont show how clever you are. they show how much you have revised and they show how nervouse you get during tests, thats it. if they are going to stop them then they have to stop them som time. may as well stop them now rather than later. someones still gona be left feeling anoyed!

well SAT's in year 6 and year 9 aren't really as important as the exams that your have in year 11 but what will all the students do instead of SAT's ????

But seriously, doing bad is the test's fault,
cuz you get nervous?
What about in real life;
you don't plan on ever having to do anything when you're nervous?
What kind of job do you want to have?
Stress is a part of life, get used to it.

The year six S.A.T's determind what class you will be in, in comprehensive [ Bottom, Top, Middle ] If you do terrible in S.A.T's you'll be in the bottom group (foundation) this means you'll be taught the basic's again. I didn't really bother with my sats now, I got put in the bottom group, but I'm doing people 1 year higher than me. Work, I got 6B in science which is above average, a story I written I would of got above level 7. But she hasn't give me my marks she only told me you've got around a 6a to level 7ish. So if you're doing good in comprehensive, you may move up to the middle group.

Sats are useless anyway. They didn't affect me. Nothing happened. I don't really care, even though i got all 5s.

Year 6 SAT's are not very important. They show what set or group you will be in for the next years of your school life (top, middle or bottom). Then year 9 SAT's show just how your doing (what they think your grade will be for year 10 and 11), Then the SAT's in year 11 are important because that decides whether you go into College or to university.

omg!!!!!!!! im in year 6 done my sats very easy but very boring and i think they are taking away the nxt year 6s sience tests they should think again we do all hard work and they dont!!!
