2. little late
(8W+2)+2= 0
(8W+2)= -2
8W= -4
W= -4/8
W= 0.5
I think

3. yup

the only I see that one MIGHT be able to call wrong is that generally, you would use the associative property to remove paranthesis and combine terms when it is convenient first (i.e., make it 8w +4 = 0), other than that, perfect explanation

4. It's simple. The absolute quantity of 8w+2 is 8w+2. So....

8w+2+2=0
-4 -4
8w=-4
/8 /8
w=-1/2

5. What is the circumfrence of a circle

6. The length around a circle

7. |8w+2|=-2
8w+2 belongs 2, -2
I 8w+2=2
8w=0
w=0
II 8w+2=-2
8w=-4
w=-4:8
w=-0.5
if is in module 8w+2:thumb:

8. |8w+2| = -2 has no answer because the left side of the equation is ALWAYS greater than or equal to 0. Hence the solution set is the empty set.

9. Gold Star for you :thumb:

10. you guys do realize that this thread is from 2009 right?

11. door, akeysis

i think you need to solve it
everything adds up to 12w=0 then need to flip the 12 over so it becomes -12 so it looks like this..

w=-12

12w=0 is an impossible question

12w= 0 equals this
w = 0/12 ... fail
