Monster Hunter Freedom? I'm playing that game ATM.

Here's a tip to beating the Yian Kut-Ku.

Get the Vile Serpent Blade, that helped me a lot, couldn't do it with any other weapon. And also, look at it's ears. If they're up, it means it's still strong, with high HP. If down, then it's weakened, and you have almost beat it.

Hope it helps. :D

ok here is a walkthrough dat i found its hell of long and ive checked it for spellin mistakes and corrected em:

Hello and welcome to my most important project up to date, a FAQ for the game
Monster Hunter Freedom. I'm MHxOGRE, and this is my First FAQ/Walkthrough I
have written. It has taken many man-hours to write and is my greatest work to
date. I have two goals to accomplish with this guide. My first goal is to write
the biggest Monster Hunter Freedom walkthrough known to man. My second goal is
to write a Walkthrough for every Monster Hunter sequal. Since Monster Hunter
Freedom for the PSP is basically a revamped verion of Monster Hunter for the
PS2, I'm obviously not going to write a Walkthrough for the PS2 version. What
I am going to do is write a Walkthrough for Monster Hunter Freedom 2. If they
make any sequals to that, such as Monster Hunter Freedom 3, i'll obviously
begin writing that once i've completed the MHF2 Guide. Although these goals
seem very ambitious i'll try hard to complete them. I have been inspired by
many FAQs writters and now I am one. Since I new everything there was to know
about Monster Hunter for the PS2, I thought this game wouldn't be much
different. I was wrong in many ways. This game was far from brief to me. With
tons of improvements, new armor, weapons and items this game was far ahead of
my expectations. At first I wasn't ready to write a BIG Walkthrough like this
one, but I wanted to help people out anyway. I tried to come up with an idea
for a very useful guide, then it hit me. I remember reading Xiamut's FAQ for
Monster Hunter when I thought to myself "Ya know what, I should make a Weapon
Tree FAQ". It took me only two days to write and post the Weapon Tree FAQ.
Which is always going to be my favorite Monster Hunter Freedom In-Depth FAQ.
After MANY emails asking me to post the informationof each weapon rather than
just their paths, I started working on my Great Sword Creation FAQ which,
until now, was my biggest FAQ. Due to the amount of requests for dual sword
info I then decided to write a Dual Sword Creation FAQ for those eager viewers.
Although there were many requests for a sword & shield creation faq, I decided
to move away from the weapon creation faqs for something different. I was at a
crossroards trying to decide what was next for me. I wanted to write something
that most people don't know about; Rubies. I then wrote a Ruby FAQ and posted
it on Gamefaq.com. Later, I was reading Xiamut's list of works when I noticed
he had written a Ruststone FAQ. Since this is Monster Hunter Freedom and lots
of people write on the message boards asking about Ancient Stones, I decided
to write one on Ancient Stones. 2 days later the Ancient Stone FAQ was born.
These guides were quick and easy to make, they had to be. My schedule has been
very busy lately due to school and football. That's right this FAQ writter
plays Varsity football for my High School, and no i'm not a benchwarmer either.
I can't tell the name of it, because there are freaks out there, but the
initials are MHS in Virginia. If you recognize this please email me. In a day
I have to get up at 6:00am, go to school until 1:45pm, go to football practice
until 5:00pm, then come home to do homework. I get about 6 hours of the day to
do what I want. So, ive been writing this gauide. Enjoy.

V I L L A G E Q U E S T
O----------------------------O

In this section I won't be giving strategies on all the tedious quests Monster
Hunter Freedom. Instead i'll be explaining how each quest works from selecting
to joining to menu options and back. Here we begin:

SELECTING: In Moster Hunter games you can't just leave the village without
anyone knowing about it for as long as you want. You'll have to select a quest
to get out of the Village. Also, there are time limits in ALL quests. Don't
worry about it thought, because most quests give up to 50 minutes to a quest.
Which, is plenty of time if you ask me.
First, you'll need to find the list of requested quests in the village. The
village elder, also known as the Hero of Kokoto, holds this list. He can be
found next to the entrance of the Gathering Hall. He is a short, bald-headed
hunter who is probably like 80 years old. Anyway, when you first select him
he'll give you quite the long speach about being a hunter that you've probably
heared before, see why I said he's probably 80 years old? Once the list comes
up you'll notice that the "Lv*" option is yellow and all the others are grey.
This means that the yellow options are selectable and the grey options haven't
yet been unlocked. Once you complete SPECIFIC quests a re option will appear
on the quest menu that says "Urgent Quest". This mean if you complete that
quest you'll unlock a new set of quests to have to complete before the next
urgent quest. These urgent quests are far more difficult that the ones you've
completed so far. Once you've completed All Lv*,Lv**,Lv***,Lv****,and Lv*****
quests you'll unlock your first PERMINANT Urgent quest. These quests will
allways be selectable in the "Urgent Quest" option even after they've been
completed. In these quests you'll be killing monsters from the White Monoblos
and Dual Diablos to the Lao-Shan Lung and the Yian Garuga.
Each quest has its own unique details. You can see the rewards, Contact
Fee, Time Limit, Location, Specific Condition, Quest Level, Goal Condition,
Fail Condition and the Requestors Note. When selecting quests you should first
look at the Goal Condition. This is what is required to complete the quest.
The next most important thing you should know about each quest is the location.
There is a huge difference between killing a rathian in the desert and killing
one in the forest & hills, specifically area 9. If you know what i'm talking
about please clap if not just keep reading. The third most important thing to
know bout the quest you'll be entering is the time limit. Now, most qiests will
have long time limits, which is good. But it is still important to know what
time is left in each quest. The only thing left to know that's very important
to know is the quest type. There are 4 types of quests; Hunting, Gathering,
Capturing, and Special quests. The rest of the details are very unimportant,
so don't worry too much about them. Once you've selected a quest a colored
aviator will appear over your head. The color varies depending on the type
of quest you're about to enter. Hunting quests are red, gathering quests
are green, capturing quests are white, and special quests are purple. Run
to either the north of the Village near the tree or the south of the village
near the sign and press []Square to depart.

MENU OPTIONS: Press Start in-game to bring up the Menu.
ITEMS: This option is where you can see the items you brought with you on the
quest and the items you've collected in the quest. Although informative, you
can't use items through this menu. For more info on items view the Item List.
COMBINE: This option is where you can combine any items you've brought with
you or that you've found in the map. View the combination list for more info.
REFERENCE: This option is split into two subsections, Monster List and Combo
List. The Monster List is info on all monsters that you've purchased from the
traveling salesman. The Combo List is a list of all item combinations you've
successfully performed. Go to the Bestiary or the Item section for more info.
QUEST INFO: This section will display the name, requirements, rewards and
time of the quest you're in. It's pretty self-explanitory people.
CHIEF'S WISDOM: In this option you can view the tips the Elder gives you on
the quest you're on. This section is only available in Village Quests.
MAP ZOOM IN / MAP ZOOM OUT: Very self explanitory, it changes map size.
STATUS: This shows your character's information. It shows the name you gave
your character, weapon type you brought, your hunter rank, your guild points,
your money, and the online status. It also shows your Health, Stamina,
Attack, Defense, and Resistance.
EQUIPMENT DETAIL: This shows the armor you are wearing. It also shows the
weapon your brought. It gives information on your weapons and armor as well.
OPTIONS: This shows the Status display, Map Display, Targeting system, Camera
Type and Camera Setting. Most of these you won't need to change though.
ABANDON QUEST: The last option is the "Quit" option. This will bring you back
the the village with the items you had before the quest. Gesture: Despair.

O------------------------------------------O
G A T H E R I N G H A L L Q U E S T
O------------------------------------------O

In this section I'll show the differences between Village quests, how to select
them and the different menu options you'll be able to use in-game.

SELECTING: Similar to village quests, you'll have to select a quest or you
won't be able to leave the Gathering Hall. Although this is true the Gathering
Hall has a much diverse selection of quests that you can choose from. Also,
similar to village quests, you'll still have plenty of time to complete each
quest. A new addition to the Monster Hunter series, which they should've always
had, are gathering quests. All you need to do is explore the area, sweet huh?
First, you'll need to find the Gathering Hall in the village. Remember where
the Village elder is? Go to him but don't talk to him. Notice the Blue Curtains
just behind the Elder that seem to lead into a house? Well, go up to that and
you'll see two options. If you want to solo these quests, like the village
quests, select "[] :0ffline Gathering Hall". If you have friends and want to
play with them select "O :0nline Gathering Hall". Now in ther Gathering Hall
you'll want to find the List of Requested quests. Walk, or run, up to the
counter where you'll see an Elder, a Red Maid, and a Blue Maid. Depending on
your progress in the game the elder will say different things, as will most
people in the game will. Just ignore him and talk to the Red Maid. By the Way,
i'll be refering to the red maid as the "Red Bartendor" for now on. I'll also
be refering to the blue maid as the "Blue Bartendor" as well. These ladies will
be issuing quests through the Guild. "Guild?" you say, "I thought it's called
the Gathering Hall". The area you're in now is called the Gathering Hall, but
the system that distributes quests is called the Guild. Sorry, i'm getting off
topic. Go up to the Red Bartendor and press X. She will say "Welcome to the
Hunter's Guild Kokoto! Please select the level of quest you would like to
initiate. Next". Press X again and you should see another list of quests to
complete. The main difference between Guild Quests and Village Quests is their
Supplies. You'll be givin much mopre supplies on these quests that the Village
ones. To learn more about supplies Read the "Secret Areas" Section.
By the way, there is a quest type that is only acsessible through the Online
Gathering Hall called treasure Hunting. It is a very unique quest type that is
brand new to the Monster Hunter Franchise. To enter Guild Quests head to the
door that is really bright. The rest is pretty self-explanitory. So if you have
any questions about anything not in this section please email me.

MENU OPTIONS: Press Start in-game to bring up the Menu.

Your first quest ever, you must be pretty excited right? Hehee...not really
Once you've selected your first urgent quest from The Elder a green avater,
shaped like a piece of paper, appears above your head. You'll need to
either head to the north of Kokoto village near the big tree or the south
of Kokoto village under the big sign to depart. You will begin at your base
camp. While hunting in Village quests you'll sometimes notice a picture of
the village elder under your name. When you see this open your menu with
Start, and scroll down to Chief's Wisdom. In this section you'll find lots
of info on anything monster hunterish. Well, it's time to quest. Head
toward the hole in the brush, or forward. Once you enter area 1 a cutscene
will begin. It shows the beautiful landscape of the forest & hills. Run to
the center of the area to find 4 adult Aptonoths & 1 baby Aptonoth. Pick
whichever one you want for dinner and attack it. Once dead stand on thier

two Raw Meat from the pack of Aptonoth head back to base camp. To deliver
items in gathering quests, such as this you'll need to go up to the RED box

the bow to do so. After the wait take your rewards from the Rewards area

To cook a well-done steak you'll need to bring/carve raw meat, then put the

o------------------------------Basics: Combining Items------------------------o
Now, in this basic quest you'll be using the item combination system for
the first time. The first item to be made in this game, and the first item
on the combination list, is the potion. To make a potion you'll need to
have both a herb and a blue mushroom. Since you can only buy herbs in the
village, you'll have to venture out and find a blue mushroom. Now a blue
mushroom is not at all a rare item. They can be found in almost any quest.
In this quest the best place to find blue mushrooms is area 3. So, head to
area 3 from the base camp. There is a couple of rocks with mushrooms
growing on it. Search that area to find some blue mushrooms and head back
to camp. Now, before you can deliver these items you'll have to use the
combination system for the first time. Open the Start Menu and scroll to
the combine option. Highlight the blue mushroom and select it, then
highlight the herb and select that too, then combine. Once you have two
potions, deliver.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

o----------------------------------Basics: Fishing----------------------------o
This quest is going to be the most testing of your patience. You'll need to
fish and catch at least 1 sushifish. Don't woory about bringing materials,
they'll be provided for you. Once you begin, collect the Map, Rations, and
the worm bait. If you really want you can take the potion and whetstones
too. Head to area 11 and be prepared for a new kind of mosnter. When you
enter area 11 you'll notice, right off the bat, that you've been nocked
back into area 10. I know what your thinking, "WTF!". You've just been
knocked on your arse by a bullfango. The bullfango will be one of many
monsters that will be doing this to you throughout your hunter life. Attack
the fango util it falls and you'll finally be ready to fish. Select the
worms in your item window and go to the small pond to the right. Press []
and waight for a fish to nibble at the bait. As soon as you see the bait
tugged under the water press X to catch a fish. You'll most likely not
catch a Sushifish first off so keep trying untill you do. When you've
finally caught that fish head back to camp and deliver it.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

o-----------------------------Your First Monster Hunt-------------------------o
All right, finally a quest that doesn't require you to collect anything to
complete it. Now, in this quest you'll have to kill a group of velociprey
that are attacking a group children, or so the notice says. There are no
children in this quest nor are there in any quest so don't worry about
that. What you'll need to worry about, for you first-timers, are the 3
velociprey. Velociprey are these blue veloci-raptors that will jump and
scratch at you. So, as long as you are looking out for own behind, you'll
have no trouble killing three velociprey. The quest starts off in the
forest & hills. By now you should be fairly familiar with this map. Head to
area 8 and you should see a cutscene. Once it's over now you'll heve to
kill some raptors. They'll go down quick and when they do you win, which is
the beauty of a hunting quest.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

o---------------------------------Mushroom Picking----------------------------o
In this quest you'll need to find 7 special mushrooms in the forest and
hills, which is not that many so this should be easy. I suggest you head
towards 8 first and then go from there to 10 then to 9. You'll see the
mushrooms are growing on a small hill, the same hill that you once picked
blue mushrooms from. Aftering picking a few mushrooms head to area 10 and
search the corner next to a tree to find the rest of the needed shrooms.
Now, if you have 7 special mushrooms head back to camp and deliver.
If capcom has screwed you over, head to area 9 and search the northern area
with a mosswine sniffing around. You should have anough mushrooms now to
complete this mission. Do so.

Present for the Armorer-------------------------o
Of all the Village Elder LV* quests this is my personal favorite. All you
have to do in this quests is kill kelbi, no seriously. If you don't know
what a kelbi is then read the moster faq...egh i'll tell ya anyway. A kelbi
is a small, puny, harmless monster that just hangs out in certain quests.
Unless your Special Ed, you shouldn't have a hard time killing these
things. Actually you can't just kill kelbi to complete this quest. You will
have to kill them then carve them until you have 5 kelbi horns. You really
don't need my help with this quest. Good luck, you won't need it.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

o------------------------------Raid the Wyvern's Nest-------------------------o
Now, this will be the first actual challenge for you. This will be your
first egg quest. An egg quest is basically this; You go to the monster's
nest, steal an egg, run it back to base and deliver it. Easier said than
done. To make this easier for you, first head to area 3, where you'll see
your first wyvern the Rathalos. At your level you'll get hammered by this
monster, so avoud him like the plague. Instead of attacking it head to area
5, which is where the wyvern lives. Note; A known secret about egg quests
is that if you pick an egg then either deliver or drop it you'll
be able to clear certain areas of monsters such as Velociprey and
Bullfango. In area 5 you will see some velociprey, but just ignore them for
now. There is a ledge where the unhatched Rathalos' lay. Pick up an egg and
drop it. Run outside of the nest then go back in. Now the velociprey can be
cleared from the nest, so do so. From the nest head to area 2 and clear the
prey from there. Now all you'll have to watch out for is the wyvern. Head
back to the nest, pick up an egg, and carry it to area 4. Now in area 4
there is a very pesky vespoid that will knock the egg right out of your
hands. Avoid it with your life and head to area 3. Ow, by the way, if you
fall from the top of the ledge to the base of the area the egg will break.
There is a half ledge to the left once you enter area 4 which won't make
the egg brake. From area 3 go staight to area 2 while keeping an eye out
for that Rathalos. Once in area 2 if Rathalos is not grazing you'll have a
straight shot towards the base camp. If not...Run! WAIT, Before you think
it's over with you'll still need to deliver the egg. While in the camp walk
up to the RED BOX. Get Right next to it FACING THE BOX and PRESS CIRCLE.
Sorry for the caps, but if you drop your egg at the base camp, you should
be pissed. Just want you to know this.

- The Great Jungle Kut-Ku -

Now, you finally get to kill a wyvern, so be
happy. This is the first step in becoming a
real monster hunter. In this quest you'll be
hunting a Yian Kut-Ku. The Kut-Ku is a Yian
creature that will snap his beak at you and
shoot fireballs from its mouth. Although he
sounds tough, he is quite a wimp. For anyone whose ever killed a wyvern this
quest will put you to sleep. If you are new to the monster hunter world this
will not be so easy. The best strategy for killing a kut-ku, in my opinion,
is to attack its wings. The reason being, the wings are very weak and will
make the Kut stagger often. Another, more important reason, is that the
wings are soft and don't require much sharpness to pierce. Also, it is
important to BRING SOME EXTRA WETSTONES. After about 10 minutes of stabs &
jabs he'll go down. Congradulations, you just killed your first wyvern, Yay!

- Slay the Velociprey! -

This quest is simple enough. You'll need to kill 10 White Velociprey, easy.
Just head to area 2 and kill the white velociprey that inhabit the area. Once
you've killed a White Velociprey a new one will spawn after you've either
carved it or let the body decompose. By the way, there is a Gypceros in the
area so keep an eye out. If you've never seen a gypceros, it starts in area 9.
- Liver of Legend! -

Here we go now, in this quest you'll have to collect 3 Piscine Livers. Do do
this you'll have to kill the cephalos that inhabit the desert. Now, since
this is probably going to be your first time killing one i'll let you in on
a good way to kill one. Equip a hammer and ground pound the area that they
swim by. After a pound or two they will come flying out of the sand. Another,
more effective way is to just throw sonic bombs at them while their under the
sand. It has a 100% rate of flushing them out. By the way, this quest takes
place in the desert as apposed to the forest & hills, if you didn't notice.

- The Formidable Velocidrome! -

In this quests you'll be required to kill the leader of a velociprey pack, the
alpha-male if you will. Now if you think that this so called alpha prey will be
a pushover like the rest of the em, think again my friend. The Velocidrom is
stronger and takes 3 times tougher than the average velociprey. Now, don't get
discuraged or start to think this is going to be difficult. The Formidable
Velocidrome is not that formidable if you ask me. Just Keep attacking him until
he gets weak. When this happens he will run away and try to replenesh health.
Keep following him and slashing away and he will fall in no time.

The Furball Arena -

Now, to complete this quest you must kill 25 Felyne in an arena filled with
melynx. To do this just pick out the white cats and kill them, only. If
you really need to kill a melynx, please do so. Also I recommend that you
empty your inventory or keep plenty of felvine, so you won'yt get jacked by
those stupid melynx thieves.

- Slay the Great Kut-Ku -

Now, here is another quest where you'll be required to kill a Yain Kut-Ku. But
unlike "The Great Jungle Kut-Ku", this Kut-Ku is a color variation. This is a
Blue Yian Kut-Ku, which is tougher than the original pink Kut. You'll start off
at base camp, as useall. Grab your supplies as fast as you can and leave the
base camp. From area 1, climb onto the ledge and head to area 8. Run, from area
8, to area 9 which is where the Yian Kut-Ku is resting. Quickly start attacking
him, the reason being is because once he leaves area 9 he will be harder to
track. Use the same technique on this Kut-Ku, as you would on any other. Attack
his wings nonstop, avoid his head shake and don't forget whetstones!

- Trouble in the Swamp -

Ever been knocked to the ground by a bullfango? Don't you just hate them? If
you have a beef with a bullfango hear is where to take that anger out. You'll
Be required to kill 10 Bullfango to complete this quest. After spawning at the
base camp grab your supplies and leave the area. First head to area 8 to find 3
Bullfango. If your having trouble killing one in this area stay at the entrance
between 1 + 8. Walk up to the mushrooms and wait. A Bullfango will eventually
run after you. Lead it toward the entrance. Now you can kill it without
worrying about the other bulls knocking you over. Use this technique to kill 10
of these things.

- Attack of the Giant Bugs! -

This quiest is too easy for me to have to explain, at least not yet. Just bring
any weapon/armor combination that you want and kill 30 vespoid. It is as easy
as that. If you are really having trouble, please, stop playing this game.

o-------------------------------Crystal Hunting!------------------------------o
This quest is similar to egg hunting quests in that you'll have to carry a
piece of rock to the base camp. Unlike egg quests you'll have to mine a
spot to pick one up. The sootstone can be found in area 11. Mine the area
and head outside. Since there is a gendrome in area 5, head to area 6. Run
past the vespoid and head to area 3. In area 3 keep moving back n forth to
avoid the velociprey. Once your in area 2 your home free. Press Circle at
the red box and you've won.

type. Can you guess which? Obviously in this quest you'll be required to catch
a wyvern rather than to kill one. "How do you catch a wyvern?" you say, well
i'll tell ya. To catch a wyvern you'll have to attack it until it is WEAK
not DEAD. Wyverns have there own signs that show that they are weak. The Yian
Kut-Ku, when weak, will have his ears down. Once you see that STOP attacking
and head to its nest, if your in the forest & hills. Where they run away
varries between what monster they are, and what map your in. Once you see Yian
Kut-Ku's ears fall down, he will start to limp and run to his nest. The nest
is area 5 in the forest and hills. Wait for him there and lay a trap down and
have him fall into the trap. Once he is in it through the 2 tranks, found in the
supply box, at him and he will be officially caught. Congradulations, you've

This is a hard quest to complete if you haven't the slitest clew how to

non-wyvern egg? These eggs come from the apceros, which sounds easy but it's
not. This quest is very tedious, if you ask me. The most effective stragedy is
to equip armor that gives the backpacking expert skill. Also bring 2 Mega
Juices to make this faster. This will make you much faster while carrying
eggs / sootstone / quartz. Grab an egg from area 8 and drop it. Re-enter the
area and kill the apceros to clear the area. Drink a mega juice and pick up an
egg. Head out of area 8 and prepare to run. In area 7 hug the right wall untill
you reach area 2. Watch out for the rathian that inhabits the desert. Once in
area 2 make a straight run for the base camp while wathcing out for cephalos &
a small pack of genprey. Once in base camp deliver your egg in the red box.
Now, quickly run back to area 8. Grab an egg and re-use this technique. After
the second egg quickly run back to 8 again. You should still have use of your
first mega juice. By the time you get to area 8 for the third time, use the
second mega juice. Grab an egg and use the same technique to complete this
quest. BTW, This quest is great for getting Commendations.

looking tail and a crystal on its head. The best way to kill one is to first
break off its crystal then attack either his stomach or tail. The reason to
break the crystal first is to keep it from making you dizzy. So, head to area
4, clear the area and waight there. Gypceros will show up and imediately start
attacking his head. His blinding attack can be blocked. Once his crystal breaks

| |UNTER | (00000) |
FREEDOM o-----------------------------------------------------------------o

This quest is going to be the most difficult egg quest in all of the Village
quests. Even if you know what you're doing this still becomes one of the most
tiresome quests. To be honest I am no good at this quest, but i'll help you in
anyway that I can. Okay, you'll start off in the base camp in the jungle. The
eggs are located in a nest in area 6, but there is a pesky Rathian in the way
of mission success. You will have to kill the Rathian to egg the eggs, so head
to area 6 to begin this journey.

Once in area 6, clear the area of ioprey, then focus your attacks on the
rathian. After a very obnoxious battle against the Ian, you'll get your chance
to get more irratated. Mow, you can head in two diferent directions to get to
the base. The long and safe way is to head to area 7, then to area 3, then 1,
then the base camp. The other, more ballsy, method is to rush through area 4
past the Bullfango. It is possible to do this, I have done it. If you run in
a certain pattern you can avoid each bullfango and make it out of this
hellhole. I am not sure exactly what the method is, but i'll test it soon.

should know about this quest though. Since you have to kill two Kut-Ku before
you get your supplies you won't be able to pick up a map from the box until
you do. Just so you know. So, head to area 9 to find the first Yian Kut-Ku.
After killing the first Kut-Ku carve his body and head to area 10. By the time

Remember that red wyvern that you had to run from in "Raid the Wyvern's Nest"?
Well, in this quest you'll be required to kill that beast. Before you decide
that you've kill plenty of these wyvern and start thinking that they will be
easy, please think again. The Rathalos is the most tedious wyvern in the game.
He loves to wuss out and fly away to a different area to avoid you. He is much
faster than any of the wyverns you've fought before.

You should notice that Rathalos likes to fly away, which makes this quest
tedious. So, before going on this quest bring some paintballs to track his
position. Okay, the Rathalos will start in area 3, so grab your supplies and
start running. When you get to area 3 run to the center of the map and start
attacking the Rathalos. I suggest bringing some extra potions for this quest.
Before you start attacking the Rathalos's body, try and cut its tail. You can
get an extra carve form its tail if you cut it off. If the Rathalos runs away
just keep following him and attacking him untill the beast has fallen.

In this quest you'll be killing an Azure Rathalos. In later quests the Azure
Rathalos is quite the foe. He has some very tough scales on his hide, which
makes fighting one very difficult without the ESP skill. Fortunatly, in this
quest the Azure Rathalos is a pushover. He has 1/3rd his regular health so
taking him down is not difficult what so ever. BTW, BRING PSCYCHOSERUM!

Like all village quests, you'll get to begin in the base camp. Unlike, most
Rathalos quests, you'll be fighting one in the Volcanic Zone. The Azure
Rathalos will begin in area 7 then will, most likely, migrate to area 3.
Whether or not he decides to fly to area 3, head there anyway. Once you get to
area 3 kill each Bullfango then carve their bodies to make 3 more bulls spawn.
Kill the three bullfango then look around the area to see if the Rathalos is
there. If he's not that means it's in area 7,6 or 2. Use the pscychoserum to
find him then go after him. If he runs from either 6 or 2 head back to area 3
and wait for him.

Once you encounter the Azure Rathalos you'll want to paint him so you can track
him. Before you throw the paintball and scare him off, get in his face and make
your pressiance known. Don't worry about his health bar because he has almost
no health. Watch out when he flies, because he will use two deadly attacks. He
can either blast you with fireballs, or claw at you causing high damage, poison

this fight much easier. Now your ready to do battle with this beast. Start by
attacking the tail to cut it off. This makes close-ranged attacks much less
dangerous. It also makes avoiding the tail swipe much easier as well. When
Rathian looks like she will charge, you'll wanna move. The best time to attack
the Rath is to wait for her to shoot fireballs then attack her legs or chest.
If she flies away she will most likely fly to area 3. So, if you see her start

This quest is just like the one in the village quests. The only difference is
that you can pick up lots more supplies. So This should be no suprises as long
as you know what your doing. You'll start off in base camp inthe desert. Grab
your supplies then head out to area 1. From area 1 run to area 4 to start this
fight. Get in Rathian's face and make your presounce known, this way she won't
fly away. Paint the Rathian just in case she decides to fly away. Then, clear
the area of Apceros to make this fight much easier. Now your ready to do
battle with this beast. Start by attacking the tail to cut it off. This makes
close-ranged attacks much less dangerous. It also makes avoiding the tail swipe
much easier as well. When Rathian looks like she will charge, you'll wanna
move. The best time to attack the Rath is to wait for her to shoot fireballs
then attack her legs or chest. If she flies away she will most likely fly to
area 3. So, if you see her start to fly run to area 3 and clear the area of
Apceros, if you can. Keep up this strategy to bring her down in no time.
