Anyone else read any of this guys books or seen his movies? Obviously being in the book section we should talk more about his books.

I finished his book Misery the other day. It was very, very well written, and although the story was lacking in some parts it was a very good read. I'm currently reading his book The Shining it hasn't gotten into it yet, so I can't really judge.

Misery had one of the best film adaptations, though the book was still great. I personally find that 'Cell' was great, with everyone who uses cell phones turning into rampaging phsychotic maniacs hell bent on killing everything.

Yeah I have read Cell. Not a bad book, but not extremely exciting. I though Misery was really great, I can't wait to see the movie I've heard its very awesome by numerous people.

I would have to say that Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. I think that so far The Stand is my favorite that I've read. At the moment I'm working my way through The Dark Tower series. Just finished Wolves of the Calla and awaiting the next book to come into the local library, Praise God and The Man Jesus for the library.

Tis a good place a start. Now I'm curious as to whether you read the revised version The Gunslinger. If it was the unrevised version, well then if thats not a trial by fire into Stephen King's novels I don't know what is. I'm not knocking the book, but I couldn't get through the unrevised version. Although I'd have to say my favorite out of the Dark Tower series is the second book Drawing of the Three.

Carrie has to be one of my favorite books and one great film. I loved The Shining, and IT. Misery is also really good, and I am currently reading Insomnia which is awesome so far. :)

    Scardy-cat.

This guy is a good author, very gripping tales.

Yet I have only ever seen one of his movies, as I'm not a good horror fan and I mistakenly walked in on my sister watching his classical movie, "IT" when I was about 8. Needless to say I was kind of turned off from the movies from then on.

On the other hand I found the Dark Tower series hard to put down.

This sounds silly, but wasn't it called "The Mist"? I watched that recently and i do recall it was called The Mist. Not to spoil it but the ending was very unpredictable and amusing.

I haven't been able to get a hold of any Stephen King novels which annoys and frustrates me, ive seen a lot of the film adaptations, The Shinning, The Shawshank Redemption, IT and Christine. I thought all those movies were top class entertainment and viewing, Very good stuff indeed.

Can't wait to get into more detail and let my imagination run loose with the books though!

Stephen king is an American author of contemporary horror, suspense, science fiction and fantasy fiction. Well I think that many of his stories are set in his homestate of Maine. Some of his novels have been also been turned into comic books, such are The Stand, The Talisman, and The Dark Tower series.
