What Makes A Good Metal Song?

For me, It would be use of the instruments and Vocals.

For me, vocals are more important than the use of instruments since its basically the vocalists who's making the song have some rhythm with it and gets the listener to get into the song.

The use of instruments are also important since it what keeps the song's beat and how to goes with the vocals, it what keeps the song exciting and have such charisma.

But both are needed to make a good song, in my opinion.

Lyrics, as the song has to speak to you. You can't really enjoy listening to a song that has no real meaning. Well, that applies to all songs for me :/

 

To me, a good metal song has haunting vocals, so maybe I should have voted for atmosphere instead. And ruby, it is possible to have a good song that has no meaning. Like Black Hole Sun.
